by Maya HarrunaLast month, the key players from the energy industry met at the Makuhari Messe conference centre in Tokyo, Japan. Senior executives from companies such as Shell, Exxon, ConocoPhillips, BP and Chevron were in attendance to discuss the various topics currently affecting the sector, and to discuss future collaboration projects and partnerships. In the midst of the flurry of activity was Flame PR. In a specially allocated area of the exhibition hall, the Flame PR team were orchestrating a symphony of activity. Interviews between the world’s leading media and business heads from the oil and energy sector took place and resulted in an impressive array of coverage on various different outlets including TV, print and online. In the run up to the conference, alongside raising awareness of Gastech 2017 and encouraging delegate attendance, we were responsible for inviting key media to the event. The culmination of our work was clearly evident by the record number of journalists that were in attendance. National media outlets such as Japan Times, Nikkei and Tokyo TV were joined by well-known global outlets including Bloomberg, Reuters and CNBC. The next edition of the Gastech event will see the world’s biggest energy conference returning to its European home. It will be held in Barcelona Spain, and we look forward to seeing what exciting challenges the next event will bring.
